On 1st July 2008, the Airport Tax shall increase from 200 up to 1.500 Syrian Pounds, which is equivalent to € 22.00 or USD 34.00, all passengers leaving from any Syrian airport has to pay the airport tax in local currency. Children under 10 years are exempted.

On 1st Oct 2008, the Airport Tax shall be included in all GDS. If unpaid upon the issuance of the ticket, the tax may be collected by the airlines selling stations.

A new tax applicable on all land borders has also been decreed on all passengers leaving from Syria to Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey: € 8.00 or USD 12.00
